Clawfoot Bathtubs

Many of us spend a lot of time in each room of our home trying to figure out how to decorate it and what type of furniture we should use. Many of us will spend most of our time in the living room or the kitchen or even the bedroom to their exact specification. One room that is often left out is the bathroom.

It is not uncommon for us to put up a few wall hangings and be done with it and not even bother to think about the many other things we could do with it. We could give it new floors and even new appliances. One of the biggest change that we Clawfoot Bathtubscould make is with the bathtub.

One of the most unique and classic types of tubs that we can use in the bathroom are clawfoot bathtubs. These are unusual in the way that they are styled. At first glance you are reminded of the Jane Austen era in which there were no showers invented during this time let alone a proper faucet to use it with.

These are still used in much the same way. The tubs is usually rather large so as to allow the person to sit in it without their legs sticking into the air. At the top of the tub it curves slightly upwards to give the person comfort. The entire thing sits on four feet that are in the shape of claws and what gives the tub its name.

The shape of the tub can differ depending on how big you want it to be and who you are purchasing it from. While most only have one side of the tub (the side farthest from the faucet) curved upwards and out other tubs may have both sides curving up or even none at all.

These clawfoot bathtubs are perfect for people who love to separate their showers from their tubs. As in the olden days these tubs do not come with showers – but a simple faucet. Instead a shower stall is usually built right beside the tub. This allows the tub to stay free when you need to take a warm bubble bath at the end of a stressful day.
